Working on a Puzzle

You can use either the keyboard or the mouse to work on your puzzle in Solving Mode. Note that for each cell you can select one "Solved" number, several "Possible" numbers, or several "Impossible" numbers. The small numbers indicate if that digit is "Unknown" (light gray), "Possible" (dark green), or "Impossible" (light red). A large gray number indicates your solution for that cell. A large black number means that it is a starting number and cant be changed.

The small numbers can be ignored or simply used for your own "notes" for easier puzzles. Strategies for more advanced puzzles require the small numbers to accurately indicate all numbers known to be impossible in cells.

For detailed descriptions of the strategies mentioned in this section, refer to Strategy Details.

Using the mouse:

This is the most intuitive. When the cell is not solved, all of the small numbers show.

Using the keyboard:

Use the cursor or Tab keys to move to a cell you want to change.
